The QUESTION turned into a VISION: A Deaf Bible Training and Translation Center.

A PLACE WHERE Deaf, from not only all over Africa but all over the world, can come and learn of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
A PLACE WHERE Deaf can study Christian leadership, church planting and begin translation of essential portions of the Bible in their own sign language.
A PLACE WHERE there would be certified Bible Translation Advisors who, using sign language, could assist the Deaf in accurately interpreting and translating the Scripture.
A PLACE WHERE each translation team would have a Sign Language Facilitator working with them to help them understand the context of the scripture passage, how a visual translation can accurately and acceptably develop the passage.
A PLACE WHERE Deaf and hearing can work together to answer questions about time, space, direction and other visual information that NO written text has ever had to deal with before.
A PLACE WHERE video studios, editing computers, a Deaf artist team, DVD duplicators and printing would all be available with training and assistance in sign language to develop a visual Bible on DVD, on the web, as well as, in a printed iconic form called a “storyboard”.
A PLACE WHERE every member of the team would not only be taught Bible translation but how to use every passage translated for evangelism, discipleship, teacher preparation, leadership development, counseling and other functions of developing a Deaf Christian Community.
It is not often that “REALITY exceeds our EXPECTATIONS”! But this reality does!
On February 26 and 27, 2011, D.O.O.R. (Deaf Opportunity OutReach) International will dedicate the first Deaf Bible Training and Translation Center on the African continent....The scope of which has never been done anywhere in the world.
We are humbly reminded of the time when God tells Abram, “Through you all the nations of the world will be blessed”.
DOOR is confident that God is saying to DOOR and our partner, The Seed Company, "Through this Deaf Bible Training and Translation Center, all the Deaf of the world will be blessed!"
