DOOR is thrilled to announce that Jojo Ninan (DOOR hearing staff member) has been “knighted” as DOOR’s 1st official TRANSLATION CONSULTANT.
After completing the Wycliffe International training and mentoring requirements, Jojo was officially recognized as a Wycliffe Translation Consultant with a specialty in Sign Languages.
Camille Beckham (DOOR International hearing staff member) is also in the process of becoming an official Translation Consultant. Wendy Ninan (hearing) and Julia Bange (Deaf) are in the process of completing the training to become Translation Assistants.
In the future, DOOR hopes that Jojo and Camille will be able to help some of the DOOR Deaf staff fulfill the necessary requirements to become Translation Consultants as well.
Recently at DOOR-Africa, a Wycliffe International Translation Consultant looked into the eyes of each one of the DOOR-Africa staff and translation team members from 4 African countries, and CHALLENGED them by saying, “Maybe God is preparing and leading one of YOU to be a Deaf Translation Consultant!”
