IT’S A “GO!” OFF TO KENYA!!

The decision has been made! Final answer!

After much prayer, soul-searching, many e-mails and phone calls, D.O.O.R. International made the decision yesterday to continue with their plans for a ...

DOOR Translation Summit in Nairobi, Kenya
(January 14-25)

NOW WE NEED YOU TO PRAY!

What is the purpose of goal of this 2-week translation summit?

No one really knows how to do Sign Language translation of Scripture. Around the world, people are “experimenting” with different methods. It is a “first” for everyone. Wycliffe International (specialists in Bible translation) is working with us to discover good Sign Language translation methodology. They do not have all the answers. DOOR does not have all the answer. Everyone is learning!

Even within DOOR, the different country translation teams are trying different methods. The purpose and goal of these two weeks is to have representatives of the different DOOR translation teams get together to discuss what is working, as well as what is not working. Comparing notes. Discuss. Debate. Analyze. Brain Storm. Praying for “break-through” ideas that work!

The DOOR translation summit will be led by the Deaf, and the majority of participants will be Deaf. The hearing people involved are either interpreters or resource support members of translation teams or consultants. PRAY for the Deaf participants!
