Finally, DOOR received news regarding our long quest for a water source - "a borehole" -- at the Deaf Bible Translation & Training Center in Kenya, Africa.
DOOR NOW HAS THE BOREHOLE PERMIT IN HAND! God answered your prayers!!!!! Thank you!
DOOR has given authorization to Wycliffe Associates to go full "bore" ahead.
PRAY for no "dry hole."
DOOR has a good hydrological engineering study, but the water table outside of Nairobi, Kenya is 700 to 900 feet; therefore there are no guarantees. We will keep you informed as to the progress.
In the future, this "borehole" will be able to quench the physical thirst and daily water needs of Deaf translators from 8-10 different countries each year at the DOOR center. But, more importantly, it will enable the Deaf translators, along with Deaf & hearing consultants and staff, to provide "living water" for Deaf in their countries as they translate, for the first time, God's Word in the sign language of their country.
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:13-14
PRAY that God would provide another Site Superintendent for the Deaf Bible Translation & Training Center to replace the Wycliffe Associate Site Superintendent who unexpected needs to return to the United States. Wycliffe Associates is also advertizing and trying to find someone. If you know of someone who would consider moving to Kenya for 9 months to a year to serve in this capacity, please let DOOR or Wycliffe Associates know immediately.
