While Deaf people are capable of leadership (look at Deaf-led Deaf associations all over the world), they are rarely given the opportunity or training to do so, especially in a Christian ministry setting. In fact, there are basically no Christian leadership training materials available that are made by Deaf people, for Deaf people, in the context of Deaf culture.
DOOR has assembled a small group of Deaf Christians (with a few hearing participants, also) from around the world to develop Christian leadership and teaching materials for the Deaf. These Deaf leaders will put training modules on DVD in Sign Languages and teach them to Deaf people in many countries.
