Philippe "Philip": International Technology Coordinator

Philip has been Deaf since birth. He was born in New York and then moved to New Mexico and graduated from a mainstream high school.
He graduated from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in 1983 with an AAS degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology. Later he obtained another AAS degree as Printed Circuit Board Designer from Roxbury Community College in 1980.
After obtaining his degree, he transferred to Colorado Springs, CO as Senior Printed Circuit Board Designer. While in Colorado Springs, he and his wife, Joleen, explored their relationship with God more closely and participated in a church for the Deaf.
Philip also established a temporary Telecommunications Relay Service center for 6 months until the state decided to award that contract to Sprint as the TRS provider for the state of Colorado. The state of Colorado appointed him to be their technical advisor on the relay council.
In 1992, Sprint hired Philip and moved him to Des Moines, Iowa as Relay Iowa Account Manager. Later, he became a Senior Account Manager, responsible for three states (ND, MN and IA).
During that time, he attended Grace University and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management/Biblical Studies.
Philip has pastored a Deaf Church, started Signs of Grace Deaf Church, and co-founded Pass It On Services.
As International Technology Coordinator at DOOR, Philippe's job responsibilities will include:
- Translation Consultant
- Translation Technical Services
- General Technical Service.
- Strengthen model of Signs of Grace Deaf Church & develop national Deaf leadership.
Philip is married to Joleen (Deaf)
Joleen was originally from Minnesota. She graduated from a mainstream high school. Later she graduated from National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in accounting. They've been married for 25 years and have 2 daughters, Amanda and Marie. They have a granddaughter named Dakota. Joleen has been doing accounting at different small business since 1983. She also volunteers at Signs of Grace Deaf Church in accounting.
