Debra Chadwick

Hearing North AmericanDebra Chadwick
DOOR-International, Raleigh, North Carolina
Raleigh Office Manager

Debbie’s interest in missions really expanded after living in Japan for one year. She first knew about DOOR International because Linda Buus, the wife of DOOR's president Mike Buus, helped her co-lead a women’s small group.

She began volunteering at DOOR in 2000 by helping with prayer letter mailings and other miscellaneous office duties. Debbie said she enjoyed donating time to such a worthwhile ministry, because it was reaching one of the largest unreached people groups in the world, the Deaf.

When the Office Manager decided to leave, Debbie was asked if she would like to work part-time with DOOR.  When her life circumstances changed and she knew she would have to find a full-time job, but did not want to leave DOOR, Mike and Linda asked her to pray about becoming a full-time missionary with DOOR.  This required a great deal of faith on her part. Debbie had a heart for missions, but would have to try to raise some of her own support. She prayed about what God would have her do. In 2003 she took a step of faith and has been working as a full-time missionary with DOOR since then.

As Office Manager, Debbie’s main responsibilities are to handle all donations sent to support DOOR's training programs, missionaries, and national staff; produce, print and mail prayer letters for DOOR missionaries; reproduce materials to explain the ministry of DOOR to the hearing world, as well as numerous other duties.

Debbie has a single son, a married daughter, and 2 grandsons.
