Paul: Africa Team Leader, Mentor & Trainer
Lillian: Wife (Deaf)
Children: Chris Paul & Lucinda (hearing)

Paul was born hearing and became Deaf at age 8.

In February of 1991, Paul became a Christian. Since then, he has always been in some kind of service among the Deaf of Kenya. Over the years of serving the Deaf, Paul has always tried to mentor one or two younger Deaf people, and work together with them as a team. He is well-respected and liked in the Deaf community.

Paul has also learned through his years of ministry that it is essential for the Gospel to be set in a context that Deaf people can understand.  He attended a Bible school for hearing people for 4 years, but he realized that the way he was taught to preach was the "hearing way" and it would not be an effective way to reach the Deaf. That is why he is grateful for the Chronological Bible Storying (CBS) training that he then received at the DOOR-Africa DCLTC (Deaf Christian Leadership Training Center).  He says that CBS is the "Deaf way" to bring God's Word to Deaf people.

In December of 2002 Paul graduated from DOOR-Africa DCLTC. After his year of training, Paul joined the staff of DOOR-Africa in Feb of 2003.  In 2005 Paul's wife, Lillian, who is also Deaf, graduated from DOOR-Africa. They now work as a team, ministering in the Kenyan Deaf community and helping start several Deaf believers' fellowships.
