Maleidy Moya Madriz

Deaf Costa RicanMaleidy Moya Madriz
DOOR-Americas, Lima, Peru
Believers’ Fellowship Planting Trainer

Maleidy, a Costa Rican, is the only Deaf person in her family.  Her education includes university courses in art education, and experience in some Deaf theater groups.  She grew up sometimes going to church, but not understanding what it was all about.  Through a Deaf friend, Maleidy came to Christ in 1994, and began attending and assisting in a Deaf Bible study group.

When Maleidy was given the opportunity to attend the DOOR-Americas DCLTC (Deaf Christian Leadership Training Center) in 2001, she was eager to go.  She was hungry to learn, understand, and teach the truths of the Bible, and she was excited to have that opportunity in a Deaf setting.  The stories that Maleidy learned from God's Word had a powerful impact on her life.  After graduation, DOOR asked her to become a staff person at the DOOR-Americas DCLTC.  She agreed gladly.  From 2001 to 2006, her responsibilities included teaching, finances, and guidance for female students.

Maleidy has a true servant's heart.  She is now serving in Lima, Peru, both reaching and teaching the Deaf through evangelism, discipleship, and the planting of Deaf believers' fellowships.
